Blunder Bay Estate’s infrastructure and utilities are carefully thought out to provide the most up to date systems using the latest technology, but also to protect the local ecosystems and the area’s natural beauty.
The BVI Electric Company, is providing electrics via an underground power distribution system. Electrical cables will lead to every home site, the manager’s residence and office. There will also be a stand-by generator in its own purpose-built generator house.
Reverse osmosis plants will produce drinking water to homes through underground pipes with pumps and header tanks to control the water pressure. For water conservation rainfall will be gathered from rooftops for irrigation, and each building plot will have its own underground waste water treatment plant.
Fibre to the home
Blunder Bay Estates will provide a system called ‘fibre to the home’ (FTTH). Fibre optic cables are installed from a central point to each of the premises, resulting in impressive high speed internet access.
Smart House Technology
This allows house owners to have an automated ‘smart house’ system for utilities including lighting, temperature control, multi-media, security, window and door operations. Appliances and electronic devices in every part of the house can be activated and controlled, including the fridge which may be able to produce an inventory of its contents, suggest menus and healthy alternatives.
High Speed Internet
Broadband will be provided to the entire development giving home owners easy high speed access and an internet service provider. Connection will be automatic and costs will be part of monthly charges.
An independent road is being constructed within the estate so that home owners can access their plot. Ever mindful of conserving the Blunder Bay environment we will recommend the use of zero-emission electric golf carts around the estate.
